Copy metafield values from draft orders to orders

You can activate the option for metafields to carry over from your draft orders to completed orders. When your draft orders are converted to orders and you have activated the option to copy the metafield, your metafield is automatically copied into the order.

In order for the values to copy from draft order to order, the validation details in the draft order and order metafields must match.

Create one-way sync on order definition

You can copy metafields from your draft orders to orders by creating a Matching draft order definition and one-way sync.

Steps:

1. In your Shopify Admin, go to Settings > Custom data.
2. Click Orders.
3. Click a metafield you want to update.
4. In the Matching draft order definition section, click Create draft order definition.
5. Click Save.
