Set up your domain with Network Solutions

If you've bought a domain from Network Solutions, you must reconfigure your DNS settings to point the domain at your Shopify-hosted storefront.

Set up your domain with Network Solutions

Make sure that you've added your custom domain by clicking Connect existing domain on the Domains page of your Shopify admin.

To set up your domain with Network Solutions:

  1. Visit the Network Solutions Account Manager login page.

  2. Under the Log In to drop-down list, choose Manage My Domain Names:

  3. Enter your credentials and click Login.

  4. Skip the ads. Click Continue to Account Manager if prompted:

  5. Click Edit DNS:

  6. Under the My Products & Services tab, click Change Where Domain Points:

  7. Click the Advanced DNS radio button:

  8. Click Continue.

  9. Click Edit A Records.

  10. Click the delete checkbox next to the www record (you will later add a CNAME record for the www subdomain):

  11. Click Continue.

  12. Change the Numeric IP for @ (None) to Shopify's IP address: 23.227.38.32 Copy

  13. Confirm the changes, and acknowledge that they might take several hours to update.

Set up your CNAME records

To add a CNAME record for the www subdomain:

  1. Click Edit CNAME Records:

  2. Under Alias, enter www.

  3. Click the Other Host radio button.

  4. Enter shops.myshopify.com Copy in the Other Host text box:

  5. Click Continue.

  6. Click Save Changes:

    If you want to add more subdomains, you can repeat this process at any time to add as many CNAME records as you need.

  7. Click Verify connection in your Shopify admin to confirm that your custom domain has been connected to your store.

It can take up to 48 hours for changes to take effect.

Caution

If you are unable to edit your DNS records from within your domain provider's admin section, then you must contact Network Solutions support.
