Set up your domain with Network Solutions
If you've bought a domain from Network Solutions, you must reconfigure your DNS settings to point the domain at your Shopify-hosted storefront.
Before you begin
After you've added your domain and set it up with your third-party provider, it can take up to 48 hours for changes to take effect. You can check the status of your domains on the Domains page in your Shopify admin.
Set up your A record
To set up your A record with Network Solutions:
Visit the Network Solutions Account Manager login page.
Under the Log In to drop-down list, choose Manage My Domain Names:
Enter your credentials and click Login.
Skip the ads. Click Continue to Account Manager if prompted:
Click Edit DNS:
Under the My Products & Services tab, click Change Where Domain Points:
Click the Advanced DNS radio button:
Click Edit A Records.
Click the delete checkbox next to the
wwwrecord (you will later add a CNAME record for the www subdomain):
Change the Numeric IP for
@ (None)to Shopify's IP address: 22.214.171.124.
Confirm the changes, and acknowledge that they might take several hours to update.
Set up your CNAME records
To add a CNAME record for the
Click Edit CNAME Records:
Under Alias, enter www.
Click the Other Host radio button.
Enter your .myshopify.com web address in the Other Host text field:
Click Save Changes:
If you want to add more subdomains, you can repeat this process at any time to add as many CNAME records as you need.
If you are not able to edit your DNS records from within your domain provider's admin, you've probably pointed your domain's nameservers to a third party. To resolve this issue, you must contact your domain provider to have them point your domain's nameservers to their default nameservers.
