Activate Amazon Pay

To activate Amazon Pay for your store:

  1. In the Amazon Pay section, click Activate.

If Amazon Pay is not displaying properly on your online store, it is likely because you have made HTML/CSS customizations to the checkout that are not supported by Amazon Pay. Contact Shopify support for more information.

  2. On the Amazon Pay page, click Get Started!.

  3. If you already have an Amazon account, enter your log-in information. If you don’t have an Amazon account yet, select Create a new account and follow the instructions on the Amazon Pay website. Make sure that you enter all the required information and authenticate your bank account in Amazon Seller Central.

  4. After you’ve agreed to provide your Shopify store with access to your Amazon merchant account, Amazon Pay will appear as an active payment gateway on the Payments page in your Shopify admin.

Customer experience

After you've activated Amazon Pay, eligible customers can use Amazon Pay during checkout:

Pay with Amazon
The payment process is embedded into the checkout page by default so that your customers can complete their orders without having to leave your online store.

If your store's theme displays buttons for your active payment gateways, then the Amazon Pay button appears on your store's cart page instead of its checkout page.

Customers who use Amazon Pay can access the shipping address and payment information stored in their Amazon account to complete their purchase. Their billing address remains private, and is not shared with Shopify.
