When your inventory arrives, you can use the transfer that you’ve created to make sure that you receive everything you are expecting. When you confirm that you’ve received an item on your transfer, it will automatically update the number of items on your Inventory page. In order for this to work, make sure that you've enabled inventory tracking for your products and variants.
To receive inventory:
From your Shopify admin, click Products, and then click Transfers (or press
Click the transfer number to open it:
Click Receive items.
If you don't need to review inventory line by line, you can click Mark as complete and use this option as a quick way of indicating that you've received, rejected, or canceled all of the remaining items on the transfer.
Use the arrows (or click All) to indicate the number of items that you’ve received in the Accept column. Click the
...button and use the arrows there to indicate damaged items that you've received (in the Reject column) or items that you're no longer going to receive (in the Cancel column). The quantity of the items will adjust accordingly:
If you’ve received bonus items from your supplier, you can use the arrows in the Accept column to enter a greater number of items than expected.
When you’re finished receiving inventory (completely or partially), click Update inventory. If you check your Inventory page now, you will see that the number of items has been updated based on what you've received.
To finish with this transfer, click Archive.
Only transfers that have a Completed status can be archived.
You can see all Pending (open), Partial, Completed, and archived (grayed out Completed status) transfers on the Transfers page. If you need to update a transfer at a later time, you can click on its transfer number.
Make sure you understand how Shopify calculates incoming inventory.
