In-app hardware configuration for Shopify POS stores

If you're using Shopify POS with the retail package, then the Hardware settings screen shows you the hardware that's currently available to your Shopify POS system.

View the devices on your Shopify POS network

If you're using Shopify POS with retail package, then you can see the hardware that's currently present on your network on the Hardware screen by tapping Store, and then tapping Hardware:

Set a printer as the default for receipt printing

If you have more than one receipt printer connected, then you can choose one as the default.

To set a printer as the default for receipt printing:

  1. From Shopify POS, tap Store, and then tap Hardware.

  2. Tap the printer that you want to set as the default.

  3. Enable the Default receipt printer option:

After you've set up your receipt printer, a brief diagnostic report prints. After this, you should print a test receipt to confirm that everything is working:

  1. From Shopify POS, tap Store, and then tap Hardware.

  2. Tap the printer that you want to test.

  3. Tap Print a test receipt.

Test the connection to the cash drawer

When you've set up your receipt printer and your cash drawer, you can check that the connection between them is working:

  1. From Shopify POS, tap Store, and then tap Hardware.

  2. Tap the printer that you want to test.

  3. Tap Test cash drawer. The cash drawer should open.
