Connect your Star Micronics MCW10 Wireless LAN Device to a receipt printer

Before you can use the Star Micronics MCW10 Wireless LAN Device, you need to connect the device to a receipt printer. Compatible receipt printers include the Star Micronics mC-Print3 receipt printer and the Star Micronics TSP143IVUE receipt printer.

Steps:

  1. Ensure the receipt printer power is switched off.
  2. Plug one end of the LAN cable into the LAN 1 port of the MCW10. You can use the LAN 2 port for an additional receipt printer.
  3. Plug the other end of the LAN cable into the ethernet port of the receipt printer.
  4. Plug the USB cable into the USB port on the MCW10 and the other end of the USB cable into the receipt printer. On the receipt printer, the USB port is generally marked as "iPAD 2.4A."
  5. Switch on the receipt printer.
  6. Check that the power LED and the LAN 1 LED are lit, and that the WLAN LED is blinking slowly.

Initialize the MCW10's network settings

If the MCW10 unit has been in use or you are repeating the connection process, then you need to initialize the unit's network settings so that the MWC10 can connect to a new network.

Steps:

  1. Ensure the unit is connected to the receipt printer.

  2. Press and hold the reset switch on the side of the unit for 5 seconds or longer.

  3. When the power LED flashes and the other LEDs turn off, release the reset switch to begin initialization.
