Adding or removing a cart note for a Shopify POS order

If a customer has given you special instructions, or if there is anything about a specific order that you or your staff need to remember, then you can attach a note to the order during checkout. You can also add a note to a completed order from the Shopify POS Orders screen at a later time.

Tip

Cart notes are generally for internal use. Customers can view cart notes only if you choose to include them on your receipts.

Add a note while the order's still in the cart

To add a note to an order that's still in the cart:

  1. In the Cart section of the products and cart screen, tap the ... button in the top right corner:

  2. Tap Add Note.

  3. Enter the note, and then tap Done.

Remove a cart note

To remove a cart note from an order while it's still in the cart:

  1. If you can't see the cart note, tap the ... button in the top right of the Cart section of the screen:

  2. Tap the - symbol beside the note:

  3. When the symbol turns red, tap it again.

Add a note to an order

You can add a note to an order from the receipt screen at the end of the transaction:

  1. From the receipt screen of the Shopify POS app, tap Add order note...:

  2. Enter the information for the note:

  3. Tap Done.

  1. From the receipt screen of the Shopify POS app, tap Add note:

  2. On the Edit note screen, enter your note about the order

  3. Tap the check mark to add your note to the order.
