Adding a Message Us button to your online store

If you are using the Messenger channel, then you can add a Message Us button to your online store so that your customers can contact you easily using Facebook Messenger:

Customers can click on the button to message you using Facebook Messenger at any time.

There are two ways to add the Message Us button to your online store:

Enabling the Message Us button from your Shopify admin

When you enable the Message Us button from your Shopify admin, you will automatically add a Message Us button to the bottom right corner of your online store:

The button will appear in the bottom right corner on every page of your online store except for the checkout page. If you want to display it only on certain pages of your online store, then you will have to edit your theme's code.

To enable the Message Us button from your Shopify admin:

  1. From your Shopify admin, click Messenger.

  2. In the Message Us button section, click Enable:

  3. After enabling the Message Us button, click View on your store to see what it will look like on your online store:

The Message Us button has been added to your online store and customers can now click on it to contact you using Facebook Messenger. If you want to change the position, color, or size of the Message Us button, then you can edit the Message Us button settings from your Shopify admin.

If at any time you want to remove the Message Us button from your online store, then you can disable it.

Editing the Message Us button from your Shopify admin

After you've enabled the Message Us button, you can edit some if its properties, such as its position, its size, and its color, using the options in your Shopify admin.

Note

If you want to make more extensive changes to the Message Us button, such as adding it only to certain pages on your online store, then you will need to edit your theme's code.

To edit the Message Us button from your Shopify admin:

  1. From your Shopify admin, click Messenger.

  2. In the Message Us button section, use the drop-down menus to select the position of the Message Us button on your online store, the color, and the size:

  3. After you've made the changes, click Save:

    Click save changes

You can see what your selections look like on your online store by clicking View on your store. If you want to change any of these settings later, then you can edit them again using the options in the drop-down menus.

Disabling the Message Us button from your Shopify admin

If you don't want to display the Message Us button on your online store, then you can disable it from your Shopify admin.

To disable the Message Us button from your Shopify admin:

  1. From your Shopify admin, click Messenger.

  2. In the Message Us button section, click Disable:

    Click disable

Customers will no longer see the Message Us button on your online store. If you decide to add the Message Us button again, then you can do so by enabling it from your Shopify admin.
