Getting started with blogs

Before you start writing, you might want to create a new blog to display your posts. A sample blog, titled News, is included when you create your online store. You can keep this blog, or you can create your own with a custom name and template.

Add a new blog

Create a new blog with a custom name for all your blog posts.

To add a new blog:

  1. Click ... and then select Manage blogs:

    Manage blogs3
  2. Click Add blog.

  3. Give your blog a title and select how you want to manage comments.

  4. Click Save blog.

Now that you have created your blog, you can add your blog to your main navigation menu.

To add posts to your new blog, select it in the Blog drop-down menu when you create a new blog post.

Change your blog post template

You can add a new blog post template to change the way that your blog posts look. For example, you could have a template that shows images or videos only, and then a regular template for text-heavy entries. The blog post template option allows you more flexibility to customize the look and feel of your blog.

To change your blog post template, you first need to create a new template:

  1. Find the theme you want to edit, click the ... button, and then click Edit HTML/CSS.

  2. Under the Templates folder, click Add a new template.

  3. In the drop-down menu, select the article option and name your template.

  4. Click Create template:

  5. In the online code editor, make your changes to the template to customize the way that you want it to look.

  6. Click Save.
