Sidekick
You can use Sidekick, the Shopify AI-powered commerce assistant, to get guidance and complete complex, technical tasks in everyday language. Sidekick works with your store's data and presents changes for your review before applying them.
Sidekick can also surface recommendations through Sidekick Pulse on Shopify Home.
Understanding how Sidekick works
For a task with several steps, Sidekick plans the steps and then works through them. Longer tasks continue in the background, even if you close the chat or navigate away, and Sidekick notifies you when they're ready for review.
Sidekick also has the following capabilities:
- Automate tasks: Sidekick can build Shopify Flow workflows that do repeated work for you.
- Calculate with code: Sidekick can write and run its own code to forecast, compare, or summarize your store data.
- Remember what you teach it: Sidekick follows the instructions that you save as skills and learns your preferences, so you don't need to explain the same task again.
In some stores, Sidekick can't run code, and it uses a skill only when you select the skill or enter its shortcut.
Starting a conversation with Sidekick
You can chat with Sidekick from any page in your Shopify admin on desktop or in the Shopify app, or use voice mode and screen sharing.
Getting help and creating content
You can ask Sidekick to handle tasks, such as editing orders, and to create content, such as product descriptions and images. Sidekick can also generate custom apps.
