Understanding Shopify Balance transaction limits and fund transfers

With Shopify Balance, you can transfer funds, view your account transaction limits, and export transactions for your accounting software from your Shopify admin.

Your Shopify Balance account has daily spending limits for different transaction types. Daily spending limits are reset at midnight UTC. Daily limits are based on the authorization date, not the processing date. For example, if you authorize a transaction on Monday, but it's processed on Tuesday, then that transaction still counts toward Monday's daily limit.

Fees

Shopify doesn't charge any fees for using your Balance card, but ATM provider fees may apply. You can find more information about fees in your Terms of Service.

Shopify Balance spending limits

Each Shopify Balance card has its own spending limit. This applies to both physical and virtual cards. For example, if you have a limit of 5000 USD, then you can spend 5000 USD on your physical card and 5000 USD on your virtual card.

ATM withdrawal limits

Daily ATM withdrawal limits include any ATM provider fees that might be charged when you withdraw funds. For example, if your remaining daily ATM withdrawal limit is 200 USD and the ATM provider fees are 3 USD, then you can't withdraw more than 197 USD.

If there’s a problem with your ATM cash withdrawal, then contact the ATM provider.
