Viewing or exporting your Shopify Balance account details

You can access your Shopify Balance account details to view your account number, routing number, and monthly statements, as well as export transactions.

View your Shopify Balance account information

You can view your account number and your routing number.

Steps:

  1. From your Shopify admin, go to Finances > Balance.

  2. Click an account.

  3. Click Manage account.

  4. Click Show details.

For security reasons, you might receive a prompt to authenticate your account again.

View your monthly Shopify Balance account statements

  1. From your Shopify admin, go to Finances > Balance.

  2. On the Account activity card, click View statements.

  3. Select the statement to view. The statement opens in a new tab.

Allow staff to view Balance account activity

You can give a permission to your staff members to view Shopify Balance transactions and the amount available to spend.

Staff members with this permission can't perform the following actions:

  • transfer funds
  • order and manage cards
  • view account details
  • manage account settings
  • view statements
  • move money between Balance accounts
  • create new accounts

Steps:

  1. From your Shopify admin, click Settings > Users and permissions.
  2. Click the staff member who you want to give the permission to.
  3. In the Permissions section, select View Balance account activity.
  4. Click Save.

Export Shopify Balance account transactions

You can export your posted Shopify Balance account transactions into a CSV file to use with your accounting software. Pending transactions aren't exported.

CSV files with 100 entries or less are downloaded to your browser. CSVs with more than 100 entries are emailed to you.

Steps:

  1. From your Shopify admin, go to Finances > Balance.

  2. Select the account you want to export the transactions from.

  3. On the Account activity card, click Export.

  4. Select the date range to export.

  5. Click Export as CSV.

Column definitions for the exported CSV file

The following columns are in the CSV file when you export transactions:

transaction_dateThe date that the transaction was authorized. Due to the time required to process the transaction, this date can be different than when the transaction is completed.
posted_atThe date that the transaction completed. Due to the time required to process the transaction, this date can be different than when you authorized the transaction. Pending transactions aren't displayed.
descriptionA brief description of the transaction.
amountThe value of the transaction. Negative values represent money going out of your account. Positive values represent money coming into your account.
