New customer accounts

New customer accounts let your customers log in using a one-time 6-digit verification code sent by email. A password isn't required to log in.

The following features are supported on new customer accounts, and aren't available on classic customer accounts:

• Saved payment methods
• Self-serve returns
• B2B in Shopify
• Reordering

Multipass isn't supported on new customer accounts.
