Installing Shopify Bill Pay

Shopify Bill Pay, powered by Melio, is an app that you can use to manage your financial transactions directly through the Finances section of your Shopify admin.

Prerequisites for installation

Before you can install Shopify Bill Pay, there are a few requirements you need to meet:

  • Shopify store: You must have an active Shopify store to integrate Shopify Bill Pay.
  • Location: Your Shopify store needs to be based in the United States, as Shopify Bill Pay is only available to merchants based in the United States.

Install Shopify Bill Pay

You can install Shopify Bill Pay directly from your Shopify admin. If there's no option to install Shopify Bill Pay in your Shopify admin, then you aren't eligible to install it.


  1. From your Shopify admin, click Finances > Bill Pay.
  2. Click Add Bill Pay.
  3. Review the app permissions, and then click Install app.

Completing your account setup

During the installation process, Shopify Bill Pay will use your business's legal information already stored in your Shopify account to help complete your Bill Pay setup. If any required information is missing or incomplete, then you'll be prompted to provide the necessary details to ensure your account is set up correctly.

After installation

After Shopify Bill Pay is successfully installed, you need to set up your account to start using its features. Setting up your account involves configuring payment methods, vendor details, and other essential settings tailored to your business needs.
