Managing bills

After you've added your bills, you can manage all your bills directly in your Shopify Bill Pay account.

Bill statuses
Your bills can have the following statuses:
Status | Description |
---|---|
Paid | The bill has been paid in full and no further action is needed. |
Unpaid | The bill has not been paid in full yet. |
Overdue | The bill has not been paid in full, and the due date for the bill has passed. |
Verification pending | You've indicated to pay this bill using a bank account, but the bank account is not yet verified. |
Pending vendor | You've requested that the vendor choose the way they want to be paid, and the vendor has not yet selected their preferred method. |
Scheduled | You've scheduled the payment for this bill, but the bill is still currently unpaid. |
In progress | The payment has been deducted from your account and is being processed. |
Payment failed | The attempt to pay the bill failed. Review the full list of reasons and solutions. |
Sorting, filtering, and searching for bills
To help you organize and find your bills, you can sort, filter, and search for your bills within Shopify Bill Pay.
Sort your bills
- From your Shopify admin, click Finances > Bill Pay.
- Click the sort button.
- Select the sorting criteria, and whether to sort in ascending or descending order.
Filter your bills
- From your Shopify admin, click Finances > Bill Pay.
- Click the search and filter button.
- Click Add filter, and then select the criteria you want to filter by.
- Select the specific value to filter for.
Search for a bill
- From your Shopify admin, click Finances > Bill Pay.
- Click the search and filter button.
- Enter your search term, and then press enter on your keyboard.
Reschedule a bill
- From your Shopify admin, click Finances > Bill Pay.
- Click the bill.
- Click Edit payment.
- In Delivery details, select a new deduction date.
- Click Update payment.
Delete a bill
- From your Shopify admin, click Finances > Bill Pay.
- Click the bill.
- Click Delete bill, and then click Delete.
Cancel a scheduled payment
You can cancel a scheduled payment only before the payment is processed. After a payment begins processing, there's no guarantee that it can be canceled. To try and request a stop payment and refund, contact Shopify Support.
Steps:
- From your Shopify admin, click Finances > Bill Pay.
- Click the bill that you want to delete.
- In the most recent payment activity, click Cancel payment, and then click Cancel payment.
