Scheduling your Shopify Payments payouts

Navigating through payout schedules can be an important part of managing your finances.

Choose between a weekly or monthly payout schedule

To ensure consistent payments, you have the option to establish a weekly or monthly payout schedule. Understanding how monthly payouts are adapted for certain months is important for cash flow management. Specifically, monthly payouts originally set for a day beyond the current month's end are instead processed on the final day of that month, ensuring timely payments. For example, if your monthly schedule is set to the 30th of every month, then for the month of February in 2023, you would have been paid on February 28.

Steps:

Desktop

1. From your Shopify admin, go to Settings > Payments.
2. In the Shopify Payments section, click Manage.
3. In the Payout schedule box in the Payout details section, choose a payout schedule.
4. Click Save.

Delays in pending payouts

After you update your payout schedule, pending payouts are delayed until the next applicable payout date on your new schedule. If you select a recurring date for when you want to get paid, then the payout is scheduled for that day, but your bank might take additional time to process the transfer.

The funds might not appear in your bank account right after they're sent. Banks typically take between 1-3 business days to process deposits to your bank account.
