Inventory and locations
Inventory is the quantity of a product that's available for sale. You can manage inventory quantities, transfers, and purchase orders directly from your Shopify admin.
Locations are where you store and fulfill inventory. You can add and manage locations in the Locations settings of your Shopify admin.
Setting up your locations
You need at least one location to track inventory. To get started, add and manage your locations and configure how each location fulfills orders. You can also manage inventory across multiple locations and apps.
Activating inventory tracking
After you turn on inventory tracking, you can check inventory states, and decide what happens when a product is out of stock.
Adjusting and moving inventory
When your stock changes, you can adjust inventory quantities, run an inventory stock count to check your records against what's on your shelves, or create inventory transfers to move stock between locations. Every adjustment is recorded, so you know when and why a quantity changed.
Ordering inventory from suppliers
To restock your inventory, create purchase orders from your suppliers. Each purchase order links to an inventory transfer that tracks the shipment and lets you receive items.
