You’re an author and to let customers know about your new ebook launch, you’re running multiple social media marketing campaigns (all with the UTM name ebook-launch). In this scenario, you might want to create a new custom report from a template to list the quality of traffic coming from the different social media platforms to help you determine which social media campaigns need adjustment or focus.
Steps:
- Click Create custom report.
- Give the Report title a descriptive name, and choose the Sessions over time template.
- Click Create custom report.
- Click the filters icon and apply the following filter:
UTM campaign name
>is
> ebook-launch. This will limit your report to only display sessions driven by your campaigns with the name ebook-launch. - Click the columns icon and select the following columns to display:
- Bounce Rate
- Average Session Duration
- Referrer Name
- Landing Page Path
- Click Save report.
This example report now displays how long visitors are staying on different pages, and which social media platform they’re coming from (such as Facebook, Instagram, or Google). Knowing which page they’re staying on (or not staying on) can inform your marketing decisions.
