Sign up for an account on Shopify POS

You can create a Shopify ID and a new store on the Shopify POS app. You can also delete an existing Shopify ID.

Create a store when you don't have a Shopify ID

If you don't have an existing Shopify ID or store, then you can create an account and a store on the Shopify POS app.

Steps:

  1. Download the Point of Sale app.
  2. On the welcome page, tap Sign up or tap Login > Get Started.
  3. Tap the I'm located in menu to select your location.
  4. Tap Sign up with email, then enter your email and create a password.
  5. Optional: If you want to sign up using Google, Apple, or Facebook, then you'll be redirected to login to your account. When you're logged in, tap Connect accounts to connect your Google, Apple, or Facebook account to Shopify. Enter your password to continue to Shopify POS.
  6. After the store loads and the PIN page displays, create a 4-6 digit PIN.

The POS app introduction screens will display and you're logged into your store on the POS app.

Create a store when you have a Shopify ID

If you already have a Shopify ID, but no active stores associated with the account, then you can login and create a store on the Shopify POS app.

Steps:

  1. Download the Point of Sale app.
  2. Tap Login and enter your email and password.
  3. Tap Create a new store.
  4. After the store loads and the PIN page displays, create a 4-6 digit PIN.

The POS app introduction screens will display and you're logged into your store on the POS app.

Delete a store

If you don't want your Shopify ID, then you can delete it on the Shopify POS app.

You need to close your store and any partner accounts before you can delete your Shopify ID. Contact Shopify Partner Support to close your partner accounts.

Steps

  1. Log in to the POS app.
  2. Tap ☰.
  3. Tap Settings > Delete.
  4. Tap Continue to open the identity erasure page.
  5. Login with your email and password.
  6. Select All accounts are closed > Submit erasure request.
  7. Follow the steps to verify the email for the account that you want to close and complete the verification steps in the Data Subject Request Portal.
