Adding a customer profile to the cart

Shopify POS saves a customer's details so that when a customer makes another purchase, you can quickly associate them with the order.

Add a customer profile to the cart

You can add an existing customer profile to the cart.

Steps:

  1. From the Shopify POS app cart, tap Add customer.
  2. In the search bar, enter the customer's name or email and then tap their name in the search results.

You can delete a customer's details from the order by tapping Remove customer.

Add or create a customer profile for each sale manually

If you're on the Shopify POS Pro subscription, and you set your customer details settings to Recommended or Required, then your staff is prompted to add missing customer information during checkout.

You can add a new customer profile or create a new one.

Steps:

  1. In the cart, tap Checkout.
  2. In the Add missing cart information view, tap Add customer.
  3. Add an existing customer or create a new customer:
    • To add an existing customer, enter the customer's name or email in the search bar, and then tap the customer's name in the search results.
    • To create a new customer, in the New customer section enter the customer's contact information.
  4. Tap Save.
