Using Shopify mobile widgets
You can add Shopify mobile widgets to display metrics from your Shopify store on the screen of your mobile device.
Shopify mobile widgets displays metrics for a single Shopify store. If you have multiple Shopify stores, then you can change the store when editing your widget, or add a separate widget for each store.
There are multiple types of available widgets for the Shopify mobile app:
- Insights: This widget displays a number of metrics selected by you for a single store, including visualizations, to instantly access information showing how your business is doing.
- Shopify Counter: This widget displays an order counter for a single store on your mobile device's home screen.
- Sidekick: On iOS devices, you can add a Sidekick widget on your device's lock screen for quick access to Sidekick.

Requirements and considerations for using Shopify mobile widgets
Review the following considerations for adding Shopify widgets to your mobile device:
- You need to use a compatible iOS, iPadOS, WatchOS, or an Android device.
- You need to have the Shopify app installed on your mobile device.
- You can add Shopify mobile widgets only for stores that you have added in the Shopify app.
Compatible iOS and iPadOS devices
To use Shopify mobile widgets on iOS or iPadOS, your device must be compatible with iOS/iPadOS 14. You can use Shopify mobile widgets on the following devices or newer:
- iPhone 6s/6s Plus
- iPhone SE (1st generation)
- iPad (5th generation)
- iPad Air 2
- iPad Mini 3
- iPad Pro

Add an Insights mobile widget
The process for adding and configuring Insights mobile widgets varies depending on your device and operating system.
There are 3 sizes of Insights widget:
- Small widget that displays up to 2 metrics.
- Medium widget that displays up to 4 metrics.
- Large widget that displays up to 7 metrics.
You can choose any of the following metrics:
- Total sales
- Net sales
- Average order value
- Total orders
- Ordered items
- Returned items
- Visitors
- Sessions
- Conversion rate
- Fulfilled orders
- Delivered orders
- Time to fulfill
Steps:
iOS
- On your device's home screen, tap and hold on a space where there is no app or shortcut.
- Tap +.
- From the list of available widget apps, tap Shopify.
- Swipe to select the preferred size of the Insights widget, and then tap + Add Widget.
- Tap and drag the Insights widget to your preferred location on the home screen of your mobile device.
- Tap the widget to configure the information that you want the widget to display:
- Select the Shopify store that you want to display data for.
- Select the date range that you want to display data for. You can select 30 days, 7 days, or Today.
- Select the metrics that you want to display. The number of metrics that you can select depend on the size of widget you selected. you can select the store, metrics, and time range that the widget displays.
- Tap out of the widget to exit edit mode.
Android
- On your device's home screen, tap and hold on a space where there is no app or shortcut.
- Tap Widgets.
- From the list of available widgets, tap Shopify.
- Tap and hold the desired Insights widget size and drag it to where you want it on the home screen.
- On the Setup widget menu, configure the information that you want the widget to display:
- Select the Shopify store that you want to display data for.
- Select the date range that you want to display data for. You can select 30 days, 7 days, or Today.
- Select the metrics that you want to display. The number of metrics that you can select depend on the size of widget you selected.
- Tap ✓.
If you tap on any metric in the widget on your mobile device, then the Shopify app launches and displays the corresponding report based on the metric that you tapped. Learn more about Shopify reports.
Add a Shopify Counter mobile widget
The process for adding and configuring Shopify Counter mobile widgets varies depending on your device and operating system.
There's only 1 style of Shopify Counter widget, which is long and narrow, but you can resize the widget to adjust how many digits display in the counter.
In order to receive real-time order updates to the widget, you must have New order push notifications activated for their store. However, order cancellations aren't displayed in real time. If you don't activate push notifications, then the order counter refreshes every 15 minutes.
Steps:
iOS
- On your device's home screen, tap and hold on a space where there is no app or shortcut.
- Tap +.
- From the list of available widget apps, tap Shopify.
- Select the Shopify Counter widget, and then tap + Add Widget.
- Tap and drag the Shopify Counter widget to your preferred location on the home screen of your mobile device.
- Tap the widget to configure the information that you want the widget to display:
- Select the Shopify store that you want to display data for.
- Select the time range that you want to display data for. You can select Lifetime, Today, Week to date, Month to date or Year to date.
- Tap Done.
Android
- On your device's home screen, tap and hold on a space where there is no app or shortcut.
- Tap Widgets.
- From the list of available widgets, tap Shopify.
- Tap and hold the Shopify Counter widget and drag it to where you want it on the home screen.
- On the Setup Shopify Counter menu, configure the information that you want the widget to display:
- Select the Shopify store that you want to display data for.
- Select the time range that you want to display data for. You can select Lifetime, Today, Week to date, Month to date or Year to date.
- Tap ✓.
If you tap the Shopify Counter widget on your mobile device, then the Shopify app launches and displays the analytics overview dashboard. Learn more about Shopify reports.
Add a Sidekick lock screen widget
On iOS devices, you can add a Sidekick widget on your device's lock screen for quick access to Sidekick.
Steps:
- On your device's lock screen, tap and hold on a space where there is no app or shortcut.
- Tap Customize, and then tap Lock screen.
- Tap Add widgets.
- From the list of available widgets, select the Sidekick widget to add it to your lock screen.
- Tap X, and then tap Done.
Edit your Shopify mobile widgets
On iOS devices, you can edit the selected store, metrics, and time range that the widget displays.
On Android devices, you can't edit your existing widget. To edit your widget, you need to remove the existing widget, and then add a new widget with your new configuration.
Steps:
iOS
- On your iOS or iPadOS device, tap and hold the widget.
- Tap Edit Widget.
- Select the desired store, types of metrics, and time range that you want the widget to display.
- Tap the screen outside the widget window to finish editing the widget and apply your changes.
Android
- On your Android device, tap and hold the widget.
- Tap Remove.
- Tap and hold on a space where there is no app or shortcut.
- Tap Widgets.
- From the list of available widgets, tap Shopify.
- Tap and hold the desired widget style and size and drag it to where you want it on the home screen.
- On the Setup widget menu, select the Shopify store, types of metrics, and time range that you want the widget to display.
- Tap ✓.
