Navigating the Content section in the admin

Metaobjects and Files are both accessible from the Content section in your Shopify admin. You can find this section from the admin navigation bar.

Managing metaobjects

The Metaobjects page lists all of your shop's metaobjects. There are 5 default saved views that display as cards along the top which navigate to a filtered view of this list. The following default saved views are available:

Available on storefront: Metaobject entries that are available to your storefront.
Web pages: Metaobject entries with the web pages capability activated.
Active: Metaobject entries with status set to Active.
Draft: Metaobject entries with status set to Draft.
Recent entries: Your 4 most recent created metaobject entries in reverse chronological order.

Using saved metaobject views

Metaobject entry lists can be configured with saved views to easily return to filtered lists of metaobject entries.

All filters display in-line in the search bar, so you get a full view of the criteria influencing your search results. You can also use logical operators such as, is/is not and or/and, to create more advanced views with specific filter criteria.

Steps:

From your Shopify admin, go to Content > Metaobjects.
Optional: Click Custom to open the view menu, and then select the view that you want to filter.
In the Searching in metaobject definitions field, select an operator and value for your filter. The available values are different depending on the filter that you select.
Optional: Continue typing keywords to continue adding different filters and values to refine your search:
- To include an additional filter with an and operator to your search, click or add a space, and then start typing the name of the additional filter that you want to include.
- To include an additional value with an or operator to a filter, add a comma, and then start typing the name of the additional value that you want to include.
Optional: Click the filter tags of any filter in the search bar to edit the filter.
Optional: To save your current sequence of filters as a new view, click Save > Save view as.

Managing Files

The Files page lists of all your shop's files. You can search and filter your files based on file size, the file type (image, video, external video, 3D model, or other), and where files are used (products, other). Learn more about using files.

Using file views

File lists can be configured with saved views to easily return to filtered lists of files. By default, there's only 1 All view.

In any file view except All, you can make the following changes and save them to the current view or save them as a new view:

Select filters
Select the sorting criteria and sorting order
Filter with a custom search term
Rename the view
Duplicate the view
Delete the view
