Updating orders
On the Orders screen, you can issue another receipt to a customer or view an order's note. The Orders screen is available only in Shopify POS for iPad and Android. It isn't available in Shopify POS for iPhone.
Re-issue a receipt
To reissue a receipt:
- On the Orders screen, tap an order to view its details screen.
- Tap Receipt.
- Tap one of the following receipt options:
- Email receipt: sends a copy of the receipt by email (you can enter an email address if the customer didn't provide one at the time of checkout)
- Text receipt: sends a copy of the receipt by text (you can enter a phone number if the customer didn't provide one at the time of checkout)
- Print receipt: prints a paper copy of the receipt
- Print gift receipt: prints a paper copy of the receipt that doesn't show prices
Tip
You won't see the options to print paper receipts if you don't have a receipt printer installed.
- On the Orders screen, tap an order to view its details screen.
- Tap Receipt.
- Tap one of the following options:
- Email receipt sends the receipt in an email.
- Text receipt sends the receipt in a text message.

Enter the email address or phone number that you want to send the receipt to.

Tap Send receipt.
- On the Orders screen, tap an order to view its details screen.
- In the Payment section, tap SEND RECEIPT:
- You can send a receipt by email and SMS text message. Depending on how you want to send the receipt, enter the customer's email address or phone number:

Tap the check mark to send the receipt.
Add a note to an order
Order notes appear on an order's details screen, and they're useful for attaching additional information about an order. You might want to attach a note to an order for the following reasons:
- You’ve refunded or canceled the order.
- You’ve done an exchange for all or part of the order.
- Your customer has some additional requirements that you want to record.
To add a note to a completed order:

On the Orders screen, tap an order to view its details screen.

Tap Add note

In the Notes modal, enter your note and then tap Done.
The note appears on the order details screen. You can edit the note by tapping it to show the Notes modal again.
- On the Orders screen, tap an order to view its details screen.
- Tap Add note:
- On the Notes screen, enter your note about the order.
- Tap Done to save your note and return to the order details screen.
- On the Orders screen, tap an order to view its details screen.
- At the bottom of the screen, tap Add note:
- On the Edit note screen screen, enter your note about the order, and then tap the check mark to save it to the order.
