Searching for customer profiles

You can search for customers in your Shopify admin using their name, mailing address, email address, or phone number. You can also customize your Customers list by sorting, hiding, and reordering columns to display the information in the order that matters most to you.

Search for a customer profile

If you want to search for a specific customer to view or edit their profile, then you can use the Search customers field to search the customer list based on the customer's name, mailing address, email address, and phone number.

Steps:

  1. From your Shopify admin, go to Customers.

  2. In the Search customers field, enter one of the following customer details:

    • name
    • mailing address
    • email address
    • phone number
  3. From the list of search results, click the customer whose profile you want to view.

Sort, hide, and reorder customer columns

To optimize your Customers list, you can display, hide, and reorder columns. You can reorder any column, with the exception of the Customer name column, which is always displayed first in the table.

You can also control the order that items display in the Customers list by choosing the sort order.

Steps:

  1. From your Shopify admin, go to Customers.

  2. Click the Layout Columns 3 icon.

  3. Click the Sort Sort by menu, and then select a sort criteria option, as well as a sort order.

  4. In the Columns section, to any of the following actions:

    • Click Drag to rearrange a column up or down. Moving a column up places it further left in the table, and moving a column down places it further right.
    • Click View or Hide to hide or unhide a column in the table.
  5. Click Save.
