Google product disapprovals and warnings
To display your products on Google, you must follow Google Ads policies and Google Ads and Local Services Ads Terms and Conditions. If you have any policy violations, then your products can stop displaying on Google, and your Google Merchant Center account and Google Ads account can be suspended.
Google might send an email notification at least seven days before a suspension. The email notification explains the suspension, lists actions that you can take to fix the issue, and includes a link to submit an appeal.
If you're notified of account suspension for your Google Merchant Center account and your Google Ads account, then try resolving the account warnings or suspensions based on the violation in your Google Merchant Center account first.
If Google detects an egregious policy violation, then your account is suspended immediately without warning. Egregious policy violations include:
- Circumventing systems
- Coordinated deceptive practices
- Counterfeit goods
- Promotion of unauthorized pharmacies
- Unacceptable business practices
If you believe there's been an error and that you haven't violated Google's policies, then you can submit an appeal with Google.
To learn more about suspensions, refer to Understanding account-level enforcement for policy violations.

- Insufficient contact information: To ensure you have the correct contact information displayed, add your contact information from your Shopify admin.
- Misrepresentation of self or products: To resolve misrepresentation violations, refer to Google Merchant Center Help.
Fixing disapprovals for product data quality violations
To display your products on Google, you need to follow Google’s product data guidelines. Google requires that you provide accurate information about your products so that they can be displayed to the appropriate customers, such as those searching for key terms that are found in your product description or browsing a product category that your product belongs to. If you don't provide accurate information, then customers on Google might find your products through searches that are unrelated to what they're searching for. This means that customers are less likely to purchase your products, and can lead Google to stop showing your products to customers.
If your products have invalid or missing product data, then they don't display in free listings and Google Shopping ads or they display with limited performance, such as lower impressions and clicks.
If you receive notification of account warning, account suspension, or in preemptive item disapproval, then there are some actions you can take to resolve the issue. Review the guidance in Fixing Merchant Center disapprovals for product data quality violations on Google Merchant Center Help.

To ensure your products are approved and displayed across Google, review the following resources and then update the data for the affected products:
If you have a product warning from Google that isn't listed on this page, then visit the Google Help Center and search for the specific error.
Request a re-review after a suspension notification
If a policy or data violation is detected by Google, then you might receive an email that describes the issue and provides a deadline to resolve it by. After you resolve the issues, you can request an account review any time before the deadline. Fixing issues doesn't automatically trigger a re-review.
Refer to Instructions for requesting a re-review after a suspension notification on Google Merchant Center Help.
After you request a re-review, the status of your Google Merchant Center account changes to Under review. Review requests can take up to seven days. When a review is complete, you receive an email notification.
