Inviting retailers to connect on the Shopify Collective sales channel

You can invite retailers that use Shopify to connect and start selling your products. Retailers that you invite need to meet specific requirements. After a retailer accepts your invitation to connect, you receive an email notification.

Retailers that already use Shopify Collective and have your contact details can invite you to connect.

Requirements for inviting retailers

A retailer that you invite to connect needs to meet the following requirements:

  • The retailer needs to have an active Shopify store.
  • The retailer's store needs to have Shopify Payments activated in their store.
  • The retailer's business needs to be based in the United States.
  • The retailer's store currency needs to be USD.
  • The retailer's store made at least 50,000 USD in the last months 12 months.

Invite a retailer to connect on Shopify Collective

To invite a retailer to connect on Shopify Collective, you need to have their email address.

After you invite a retailer, they receive an invitation email to sell your products and are prompted to install the Shopify Collective app in their Shopify admin.

Steps:

  1. From your Shopify admin, click Settings > Apps and sales channels.

  2. From the Apps and sales channels page, click Collective (Supplier).

  3. Click Open sales channel.

  4. From the Collective (Supplier) sales channel, click Retailers.

  5. Click Invite retailer.

  6. Enter the retailer's contact details, such as first name, last name, and an email address.

  7. Optional: Add a note that's displayed in the invitation email to your retailer.

  8. Click Send.

Review an invitation to connect from a retailer

Retailers that use Shopify Collective can also invite your business to connect on Shopify Collective. Retailers need to have your contact details to be able to invite you to connect.

Steps:

  1. From your Shopify admin, click Settings > Apps and sales channels.

  2. From the Apps and sales channels page, click Collective (Supplier).

  3. Click Open sales channel.

  4. From the Collective (Supplier) sales channel, click Retailers.

  5. Go to the To review tab.

  6. Do one of the following:

    • To accept an invitation, click Click Accept invitation.
    • To decline an invitation, click More actions, and then click Decline invitation.
    • To send an email to the retailer, click More actions, and then click Email retailer.

View your connections

After a retailer accepts your invitation or you accept their invitation, they become one of your connections in Shopify Collective.

You can view a list of your existing connections and the following information for each connection:

  • whether automatic payments are active with that connection
  • connected since date
  • total order count
  • average order value
  • total sales

You can also click a specific connection to view the following additional information:

  • the total number of price lists assigned to a connection
  • total orders
  • average order value
  • total sales
  • a list of price lists that you share with that connection

Steps:

  1. From your Shopify admin, click Settings > Apps and sales channels.

  2. From the Apps and sales channels page, click Collective (Supplier).

  3. Click Open sales channel.

  4. From the Collective (Supplier) sales channel, click Retailers.

  5. Go to the Connected tab and review main data points related to your connections.

  6. Optional: To view additional information about a specific connection, click a connection.
