Location settings

If you have the Point of Sale sales channel enabled, then you'll see a Locations page in your Shopify admin. The Locations page contains the name and address of each of your stores, headquarters, and pop-up shops. When taxes are applied to an in-person order, the POS device's assigned location is used to determine which tax rates are applicable.

Note

Whenever you install the Shopify POS app on a device, make sure that you assign it to a location so that it applies the relevant tax rates.

Add a store location

To add a store location:

  1. From your Shopify admin, go to Point of Sale > Locations.

  2. Click Add location:

  3. Enter the details of your new location.

  4. Click Save.

Edit a store location

You can change the name, address, or telephone number of an existing location:

  1. From your Shopify admin, go to Point of Sale > Locations.

  2. Click the name of the location that you want to edit.

  3. Update the location's information.

  4. Click Save.

Delete a store location

To delete a store location:

  1. From your Shopify admin, go to Point of Sale > Locations.

  2. Click the name of the location that you want to delete.

  3. Click Delete location:

  4. If you're sure that you want to delete the location, then click Delete to confirm.
