Assigning a location to your device

If you use Shopify POS at more than one address, then you can assign a location to each POS device. This makes sure that you apply the right taxes to your in-person orders and that you can track the orders placed each physical location.

Products with tax overrides will use the tax override's rate over the device's location.

Assign a location to your iPad

To assign a location to your iPad:

  1. From Shopify POS, tap Store, and then tap Locations.

  2. If your location is not on the list, then tap Add or edit your locations to create a new location.

  3. Tap a location to assign it to the iPad.

Assign a location to your iPhone

To assign a location to your iPhone:

  1. From Shopify POS, tap Store, and then tap Locations.

  2. If your location is not on the list, then tap Add or edit your locations to create a new location.

  3. Tap a location to assign it to the iPhone:

Assign a location to your Android device

To assign a location to your Android device:

  1. Make sure that you've added all your retail locations in your Shopify admin.

  2. From Shopify POS, tap Store, and then tap Locations.

  3. If your location is not on the list, then tap Add location to create a new location.

  4. Tap a location to assign it to your device:
