Managing Amazon listings

You can view or edit your Amazon listings and manage inventory for listings on the Listings page in your Shopify admin:

View your listings

On the Listings page in your Shopify admin, you can see your current listings, including active, pending, and rejected listings.

After you've created a listing, it's submitted to Amazon for approval. Most successful listings are approved within a few hours. If your listing is approved, then it will appear in the Amazon marketplace. You can see how a listing looks on Amazon by clicking View listing.

If an error is displayed on a listing, you can click the listing in the Shopify product column to open the Edit listing page. The errors will be highlighted in red.

Edit a listing

You can change the price for an Amazon listing, adjust the production time for a variant, add or remove variants, and adjust inventory settings in your Shopify admin:

  1. In your Shopify admin, click Amazon and then click Listings.

  2. Click the listing in the Shopify product column to open the Edit listing page.

  3. Make any changes, then click Publish.

Manage inventory settings

Customers viewing your listings and offers on Amazon see an available inventory quantity for each variant. You can use the inventory tracking settings you have set for your product variant to sync your product inventory on Amazon, or you can manually manage the inventory quantity you want to list on Amazon.

Sync inventory with the Amazon sales channel

If you choose Use Shopify inventory settings, then your Shopify product inventory automatically syncs to Amazon based on the product's inventory policy:

Shopify tracks this product's inventory Shopify doesn't track this product's inventory

Shopify automatically updates the Amazon listing to match the total inventory in your Shopify admin, unless you have selected Allow customers to purchase this product when it's out of stock.

If you have selected Allow customers to purchase this product when it's out of stock, then the inventory on Amazon will be automatically set to 100. This number won't appear on Shopify.

The inventory on Amazon will be automatically set to 100. This number won't appear on Shopify.

Amazon doesn't support products with an unlimited or negative inventory quantity, so 100 acts as a placeholder to make sure the affected listings will appear on Amazon. The inventory displayed on Amazon might decrease as you sell products, but will update to 100 every 10 minutes.

You can change the product's inventory policy on the product detail page.

Manually manage inventory

You can manage the inventory quantity you want to make available on Amazon manually. The inventory quantity you set for Amazon does not affect your Shopify inventory. When a product is sold on Amazon, its quantity decreases on Amazon and on the listing details page in the Amazon sales channel, but not on Shopify. You can check the quantity at any time and increase or decrease the sellable quantity for that product:

Manually manage inventory
  1. When creating or editing a listing, make sure Manually manage inventory is selected.

  2. Enter the Quantity to sell on Amazon.

Delete an offer or a listing

You can temporarily stop selling a product on Amazon by manually setting the inventory quantity to 0. This prevents Amazon orders for this product without deleting the listing.

You can also permanently delete a listing with the Amazon sales channel:

  1. In your Shopify admin, click Amazon and then click Listings.

  2. Click the listing in the Shopify product column to open the Edit listing page.

  3. Click Delete listing.

  4. Click Delete listing in the confirmation box to permanently delete the listing from the Amazon sales channel and Amazon Seller Central.

If you delete a listing or offer in Amazon Seller Central, then an error appears in the Amazon sales channel on the Listings page. You can delete the listing in the Amazon sales channel to remove this error.

If you want to keep selling a linked product on Amazon, but you don't want to sync it with Shopify, you can unlink all variants from the listing. It is not possible to unlink only one variant using this method.

You can unlink all variants from a linked listing in the Amazon sales channel:

  1. In your Shopify admin, click Amazon and then click Listings.

  2. Click the listing in the Shopify product column to open the Edit listing page.

  3. Click Unlink all variants:

    Unlink variants

  4. Click Unlink all variants in the confirmation box to stop syncing the product with Shopify. Your product will still be available for sale on Amazon.
