Update email notifications
As of May 1, 2023, the method used to charge tax to US customers in your store was updated, and the default templates for email notifications were modified to reflect this change. If you use default templates, then your email notification templates were updated automatically to maintain the best buying experience for your customers. In this case, no action is needed on your part.
If you have customized your notification templates, then you might need to change your notification templates manually. Not all customized templates can be updated automatically. In addition to the changes necessary to display estimated tax, some additional changes might be required to your templates. These changes allow your templates to accurately describe and display the difference between an authorized payment, which is a payment that has been verified as available on a customer's credit card, and a captured payment, which is a payment that has been finalized and charged to the customer's card.
