Set up your domain with Bluehost

If you've bought a domain from Bluehost, you must reconfigure your DNS settings to point the domain at your Shopify-hosted storefront.

Set up your domain with Bluehost

Make sure that you've added your custom domain by clicking Connect existing domain on the Domains page of your Shopify admin.

To set up your domain with Bluehost:

  1. Log in to your cPanel on Bluehost.

  2. In the domain management section, click DNS Zone Editor:

  3. In the Select a Domain section, click the drop-down menu:

  4. Click the domain name you want to update.

  5. In the A (Host) table, click edit in the @ row:

  6. Change the points to field to Shopify’s IP address: 23.227.38.32Copy

  7. Click save:

  8. In the CNAME (Alias) table, click edit in the www row:

    Cname alias
  9. Change the points to field to shops.myshopify.comCopy

  10. Click save:

    Save cname alias
  11. Click Verify connection in your Shopify admin to confirm that your custom domain has been connected to your store.

It can take up to 48 hours for changes to take effect.

Caution

If you are unable to edit your DNS records from within your domain provider's admin section, then you must contact Bluehost support.
