Pages

If you have a Shopify online store, then you can create webpages in your Shopify admin. Webpages contain information that rarely changes or that customers will reference often, such as an "About Us" page, or a "Contact Us" page:

You can also add a blog to your online store for content that you'll be updating regularly, or if you want to encourage feedback.

Add a new webpage to your online store

To create a new webpage:

  1. Click Add page. You will be taken to a new webpage editor:

    Create page 1

  2. In the webpage editor, enter a Title and Content in the text boxes provided.

Be descriptive and clear when choosing your webpage title. The webpage title is displayed in the tab or title bar of browsers. It is also used as the title in search engine results. Learn more about website SEO.

  3. In the Visibility field, you can choose whether you want your webpage to be published or not. By default, your new webpage will be visible when you click Save. Select the Hidden option if you want your new webpage to be hidden from your online store, or click Set a specific publish date to control when your webpage is published:

    Create page 2

  4. Click Save.

Note

Even if your new webpage is visible, it won't appear in your online store navigation automatically. You'll need to add a link to it in a menu.

Add content to a webpage

The Rich Text Editor displays text in the Content field in the same style that it will display online. You can format your text and change the text color by choosing options in the rich text editor. You can also insert links, tables, images, and videos into a webpage. Make sure that you click Save whenever you make a change to the webpage content that you want to keep.

Tip

You can embed media on a webpage in your online store, including videos, gifs, and posts from your WordPress, Tumblr, or Blogger blog.

You can add a link to a webpage to direct customers to another webpage in your online store or elsewhere on the internet:

  1. In the "Content" field, enter text to transform into a link:

    Links 1
  2. Highlight the link text and click the Insert link button:

Add a Google map to a webpage

You can add a Google map for an address to a webpage in your online store. For example, it's a good idea to add a map to your About us page to show your retail location:

  1. In Google Maps, enter the address you want to map.

2. Click the Share icon to open sharing options. To make a map display on your webpage, you need to embed it by copying a piece of code to the HTML for the webpage.

  3. Click Embed map to create your embed code:

    Embed google maps code
  4. Choose the map size you want, then copy the code in the text box. The code begins with <iframe src= and is a tag written in HTML which embeds the map.

  1. Click the title of the webpage where you want to display your map.

  2. In the Content box, click Show HTML to view HTML code for your webpage:

    Show html btn
  3. Paste the code you copied from Google Maps into the Content box. You can embed the map at the bottom of your webpage by pasting the code after any existing content, or elsewhere on your webpage.

  4. Click Show Editor to switch back to the webpage editor from the HTML viewer and preview your map.

  5. Click Save.

To edit a webpage:

  2. Make your changes to the existing webpage content or settings:

    Edit page 1
  3. Click Save. Visit the webpage in your online store to make sure the changes appear. You might have to reload the browser to view saved changes.

Delete a webpage

You can delete a single webpage in the webpage editor:

  1. Click the Delete page button on the webpage you want to delete:

    Edit page 2
  2. A confirmation box will appear. Click Delete.

  3. If the webpage you've deleted is linked anywhere in your store's navigation, then remove the link.

You can also use Bulk actions to delete more than one page at a time.

Publish or unpublish webpages in bulk

You can easily control the webpages that are published to your online store using the bulk action drop-down menu in Shopify. This lets you publish or unpublish many webpages at once, which is beneficial if you're coming to Shopify from another ecommerce platform or website, or if you're uploading a series of pre-written documents.

Publish webpages in bulk

You can publish more than one webpage at once using Bulk actions:

  1. Check the box next to each webpage that you want to publish in bulk. The Bulk actions drop-down menu will appear:

    Publish bulk 2

You should now be able to view your webpages on your online store.

  3. Add a link to your new webpages in a menu, so customers will be able to find them.

Unpublish webpages in bulk

You can unpublish more than one webpage at once using Bulk actions:

  1. Check the box next to the webpages that you want to unpublish from your online store. The Bulk actions drop-down menu will appear.
