Shopify Payments and the Google & YouTube channel
Using Shopify Payments with the Google & YouTube helps you keep all your payments processing in one place. Shopify Payments eliminates the hassle of setting up a third-party payment provider or merchant account and having to enter the credentials into Shopify.
Set up Shopify Payments with the Google & YouTube channel
- From your Shopify admin, click the + beside the Sales channels heading.
- Click Google & YouTube.
- Submit products for approval to the Google & YouTube channel. The approval process can take 3-5 business days.
- After the products are approved, go back to the Google & YouTube channel in your Shopify admin, and click Get started in the Checkout on Google section.
- Authorize Shopify to manage your Google Merchant Center account.
- If you haven't done so already, then set up Shopify Payments.
- When prompted in the Google & YouTube channel, connect your Google Merchant Center account by entering your Google Merchant Center account number.
- In the Google & YouTube Channel, configure shipping settings, target market, and tax settings. These are requirements from Google and aren't automatically copied over from your existing Shopify settings.
Order and payment processing
When a customer makes a purchase from your store through the Google & YouTube channel, the order displays on your Orders page in your Shopify admin with an On hold fulfillment status and a Google tag. After a 30-minute grace period, the order status changes to Unfulfilled and you can fulfill the order. The order needs to be fulfilled before you can capture the payment. During the grace period, the inventory for the items order is updated to reflect the upcoming purchase to prevent overselling.
When you click Fulfill item(s), you're prompted to add tracking information. Adding tracking information is a requirement of using the Google & YouTube channel. After you've entered the tracking information, click Fulfill item(s). Google then reviews the purchase before capturing the payment.
After the payment is captured, the status of the order changes to Fulfilled.
