Manage products on Marketplace Connect
After you connect your Shopify store to a marketplace, you can list your products to that marketplace. After you list your products, you can manage them in the Listings section of Marketplace Connect.
There are three different listing modes that you can use to manage your Marketplace Connect product listings:
- Single edit mode is a quick way to add or make changes to an individual product, and is best suited for smaller product catalogs.
- Bulk edit mode lets you list and manage multiple products or entire catalogs on a marketplace in bulk.
- Attribute mapping mode lets you tailor how all your products appear across all your listings for a marketplace.
For additional support with listing products to Marketplace Connect, contact the Shopify Marketplace Connect team through email, or by using the chat feature in the app.

Product listing requirements
When you list a Shopify product to a marketplace, you need to ensure that it meets the product requirements for the marketplace that you're listing it on. Each marketplace has specific product listing guidelines that you need to follow:
- For Amazon, review the seller documentation for product listing requirements in your region. For example, if you're selling in the United States, then refer to Listing products.
- For Walmart, refer to Guidelines & Requirements for Product Title, Description, & Features.
- For eBay, refer to Creating a listing.
- For Etsy, refer to How to List an Item in Your Etsy Shop.
Amazon, Walmart, and eBay also require that the each product has a unique product identifier, such as a Global Trade Item Number (GTIN), Universal Product Code (UPC), or Manufacturer Part Number (MPN). If you sell products that don't have unique product identifiers, such as private label goods, then you need to apply for an exemption from those marketplaces. Learn more about unique product identifiers.
Some product information required by marketplaces isn't part of your product details in your Shopify admin. To sync more product information from your Shopify products to your marketplace listings, learn how to customize your product listings with metafields and attribute mapping.

List or edit products in bulk
You can use the bulk editor in the Listings section of Marketplace Connect to manage multiple product listings in bulk for a marketplace. Bulk editing can help you list entire catalogs to a marketplace quickly, and to review and edit products and their corresponding field values all in one place.

Link an existing marketplace listing to a product
If you already have existing listings on your connected marketplaces, then you can use Marketplace Connect to link an existing listing to a corresponding Shopify product. When you have a marketplace connected with existing listings, Marketplace Connect searches your Shopify store to suggest a product match based on the product SKU, UPC, or title. If the app can't find a match, then you can select your own match from a drop-down menu.
After you link your marketplaces listings to your products, Marketplace Connect begins syncing orders and inventory for your linked listings.
Steps:
- From your Shopify admin, go to Settings > Apps and sales channels.
- From the Apps and sales channels page, click Marketplace Connect.
- Click Open app.
- Click Listings, and from the Listings drop-down menu, select the marketplace that you want to manage products for.
- Click Link listings, and then do one of the following:
- To link marketplace listings that Marketplace Connect has found a match for, click the link next to the Ready to list badge. Select the listings that you want to link to the suggested products, and then click Approve all.
- To link marketplace listings that Marketplace Connect has found a close match for, click the link next to the Close match badge, and then do either of the following:
- Select the listings that you want to link to the suggested products, and then click Approve all.
- To replace a listing match with another Shopify product, choose a product from the Shopify SKU drop-down menu to link to, and then click Confirm match.
- To link marketplace listings that Marketplace Connect hasn't found a match for, click the link next to the No match badge.
- Review the marketplace listing column, and in the Shopify Product column next to it, choose a product from the Shopify SKU drop-down menu to link to, and then click Confirm match.
- Click Review matches.
- Review the matches that you want to link, and then click Link listings.
Customize your product listings with metafields
Metafields let you add custom fields to your product listings that usually aren't captured in the Shopify admin. This can help you display more information to your customers about your products, and can improve search ranking by being more specific. For example, a merchant who sells perishable products might want to create a custom metafield to display a product expiration on their products.
Marketplace Connect automatically recognizes most product metafields from your store. Refer to Supported metafields to learn which metafields are supported by the app.
After you create custom metafields, you can use attribute mapping to sync your custom metafields from your products to their corresponding marketplace listings. Learn how to add metafields to your products.

Use attribute mapping to manage products
Attribute mapping lets you customize what information is published from your Shopify catalog to your marketplace listings.
All core Shopify product metafields are mapped automatically after you set up Marketplace Connect. However, some marketplaces require certain product information to be displayed on your listings that isn't by default part of your product details in the Shopify admin. For example, certain product dimensions or bullet points.
To save time from having to add these fields manually for each product, you can create metafields for each of the product attributes that your connected marketplaces require, and then use attribute mapping to apply that field to your entire catalog.
After you create and map your custom metafields, those fields automatically populate whenever you upload new products to Shopify, streamlining the marketplace listing process.
Steps:
- From your Shopify admin, go to Settings > Apps and sales channels.
- From the Apps and sales channels page, click Marketplace Connect.
- Click Open app.
- Click Mapping, and from the Manage attribute mapping drop-down menu, select the marketplace that you want to manage products for.
- Use the drop-down menus in each section to choose the product attributes that you want to sync from your Shopify products to your marketplace listings.
- Click Save.
