Billing and invoices

Shopify Fulfillment Network (SFN) charges are added to your Shopify bill so you don’t have to track multiple receipts. Learn more about SFN pricing and fees.

Your SFN billing cycle might not be the same as your Shopify billing cycle. Your Shopify billing cycle can vary based on your Shopify subscription period and charges. Your SFN billing cycle starts when the SFN app is first installed on your Shopify store.

Your SFN charges are displayed on the Billing experience page of the SFN app, while your bills are displayed on the Billing page of your Shopify admin.

Summary of billing

SFN charges are added to your Shopify bill in the following categories:

SFN charges and the fees included in each category

SFN This category includes all SFN fees that are not transportation charges. Learn more about SFN prices and fees. The frequency of these fees depend on the requency of the specific fees.
SFN Transport Transportation charges are the shipping rates for each order. These fees are aggregated throughout the day by SFN and added to your Shopify bill at the end of that day.
SFN Credit Any credit due to the merchant for issues experienced in pick and pack, supplies, special projects, or storage cost calculations. Credits are applied as soon as they are approved.
SFN Transport Credit Any credit due to the merchant for issues experienced in purchasing a shipping label, carrier claims, or incorrect ship methods. Credits are applied as soon as they are approved.

Invoicing and payments

Shopify charges all outstanding SFN and app fees based on the following situations:

  • If your Shopify billing threshold is reached, then you're charged that day regardless of your billing cycle.
  • If you pay your Shopify subscription fee every 30 days, then SFN fees are charged on your Shopify subscription billing cycle.
  • If your Shopify subscription cycle is longer than 30 days, then SFN fees are charged every 30 days on your SFN billing cycle.

Shopify billing threshold amount is reached

Billing thresholds are dollar values that trigger billing whenever the total of your transaction fees and other outstanding charges exceeds your account's threshold. For example, if your threshold is 200 USD and you send a shipment that’s 210 USD, then your threshold is reached and you're charged that day regardless of your billing cycle. All outstanding SFN and app fees are charged when your threshold is reached. Monthly subscription fees are included in your running total, but they aren't included in threshold bills.

Charges triggered by your billing threshold appear in the Billing history section of the Billing page in your Shopify admin. You can increase your billing threshold by contacting Shopify Support.
