You can use Facebook and Instagram by Meta to sync your products to a catalog on Facebook and Instagram, so that you can sell on Facebook Shop and Instagram Shopping.

Checkout on Instagram and Facebook

When you set up Facebook and Instagram by Meta, you have the option to choose between two checkout methods: checkout on your Shopify store, or checkout on Facebook and Instagram. Checkout on Facebook and Instagram is currently available only to stores in the US.

Checkout on Facebook and Instagram is a Facebook product, so the requirements for using this checkout method are determined by Facebook. Checkout on Facebook and Instagram is powered by Shopify Payments. Learn more about Shopify Payments.

Instagram Shopping

You can sell your products on Instagram by using the Instagram Shopping feature in Facebook and Instagram by Meta. Instagram Shopping creates a shop on your Instagram profile and lets you tag your products in posts and stories. Customers can select View Shop on your Instagram profile to view all your products in Instagram. Customers can also click posts to view a tagged product, and then select View on Website to make a purchase on your online store.

If a customer clicks a product listed on Instagram to view it and makes a purchase, then the order is listed as referred by Instagram.

To use the Instagram Shopping feature, you need to be located in a country or region that is supported by Instagram and your products need to meet the product requirements for selling on Facebook and Instagram by Meta.

Facebook Shop

You can display your Shopify products on your Facebook Page by using the Facebook Shop feature in Facebook and Instagram by Meta.

When you set up the Facebook Shop feature, Facebook creates a Shop section on your Facebook Page. Your Shopify products are displayed in the Shop section so that customers can shop on your Facebook page. If you make changes to a product in Shopify, then the changes are also updated in your Facebook Shop.

Messenger

The Messenger channel lets you connect Messenger for Facebook to Shopify Inbox. After you activate the Messenger channel, you can send and receive messages from Messenger within Inbox. Before you add the Messenger channel, make sure that you have a Facebook business page and that you've installed Shopify Inbox.
