Download and use tier badges

If your partner organization has achieved a tier status, then you can download and display your official Shopify Tier Badge to highlight your expertise and credibility.

Steps:

  1. Go to your Partner Dashboard.

  2. Go to the Business Overview section.

  3. In the track and tier section, click the arrow to expand the Resources section.

  4. Click Download badge.

The download provides a ZIP file containing both small and large format SVGs with a black on white background.

Tier badge usage rules

When using your tier badge, follow these guidelines:

  • The Shopify Tier Logo (for example, Shopify Plus Partner) must not be altered in any way.
  • The logo must not be translated.
  • The logo can only be used upon official confirmation of Partner Program tier attainment, as communicated by Shopify.
  • If you're promoted or demoted to a different tier, then the corresponding tier logo must be updated within 48 hours.

Approved trademark usage

Partners can use Shopify trademarks in domains, URLs, and email addresses, but only if the branding clearly points to you, not to Shopify.

Allowed examples

Review the following examples of how you're allowed to use Shopify trademarks:

  • Shopify-branded pages with a Partner-branded domain: partnername.com/shopify
  • Shopify-branded subdomains with a Partner-branded domain: shopify.partnername.com
  • Co-branded email URLs: Shopify+Partnername@emailprovider.com
  • Shopify-branded email URLs with a Partner-branded domain: Shopify@Partnername.com

Not allowed examples

You can't use Shopify trademarks in any of the following ways:

  • Shopify-branded domains with generic names: Shopifygenericname.com
  • Co-branded domains with generic Partner names: Shopifygenericpartnername.com
  • Shopify-branded email URLs with generic domains: Shopify@software.com
  • Shopify-branded email URLs with generic email providers: shopify@gmail.com, shopify@outlook.com, shopify@yahoo.com

Using Shopify trademarks in advertising

Partners aren't permitted to use Shopify trademarks in pay-per-click advertising campaigns unless they have received written permission from Shopify. This restriction is outlined in the Partner Program Agreement.

Restricted trademark uses

The following uses of Shopify trademarks in advertising aren't permitted:

  • Variations and misspellings of Shopify trademarks (for example, "Sh0pify")
  • Long-tail keywords containing Shopify trademarks (for example, "Shopify dropshipping app")
  • Using "Shopify" in ad copy
  • Creating ads that impersonate Shopify or suggest official affiliation

Recommended approach

To prevent accidental violations, add Shopify trademarks as negative keywords in your advertising campaigns. This helps ensure that your ads don't display for Shopify-branded search queries.

Troubleshooting brand asset issues

If you don't see the option to download a tier badge, then consider the following:

  • Verify your tier status: Tier badges are available only for partners who have achieved a specific tier. Check your tier status in the Business Overview section of your Partner Dashboard.
  • Check your permissions: If you have limited permissions on the Partner Account, then you might not have access to download badges. Contact the owner of the Partner Account to request access.
  • Review tier requirements: If you recently joined the Partner Program, then you might not yet qualify for a tier. Learn more about Partner Program tiers and how to qualify.

If you're uncertain whether your intended use of Shopify branding is compliant, then follow these steps:

  1. Review the Partner Marketing Toolkit for detailed guidance on acceptable and prohibited uses.
  2. Check the Trademark Usage Guidelines for specific rules.
  3. Verify your use case against the allowed and not allowed examples on this page.
  4. If you're still unsure, then contact Shopify Support with a detailed description of your intended use.

Tier badge downloads include SVG files in small and large formats with a black on white background. If these don't meet your requirements, then consider the following:

  • SVG files are scalable: You can resize them without losing quality for high-resolution displays.
  • Check the toolkit: The Partner Marketing Toolkit might include additional guidance on logo usage.
  • Don't modify the logos: Altering the color, proportions, or design of tier badges violates the usage guidelines.

Frequently asked questions

You can use Shopify logos to indicate your partnership status, but you must follow the Trademark Usage Guidelines. You can't use the Shopify logo as part of your own logo, modify it, or use it in ways that suggest official Shopify endorsement.

You can mention that you're a Shopify Partner in your marketing materials without explicit permission, as long as you follow the branding guidelines. However, using Shopify trademarks in paid advertising campaigns requires written permission.

Violations of the trademark guidelines can result in the termination of your license to use Shopify brand assets. Serious or repeated violations might affect your Partner Program status.

Partner Program tier standings are evaluated on a quarterly basis. If you qualify for a different tier, then you'll receive communication from Shopify with your new tier status and updated badge access.

No. If your tier changes, then you must update your tier badge within 48 hours. Using an outdated tier badge misrepresents your partnership status.
