Archiving stores

When you no longer want to work on a development store, you can archive it so that it's removed from the Stores page in your Partner Dashboard. After you archive a store, you can unarchive it later if you want to continue working on it.

Archive a store

After you archive a store, it no longer appears in the list of stores on the Stores page in your Partner Dashboard.

Steps:

  1. From your Partner Dashboard, click Stores.
  2. Beside the store you want to archive, click Actions > Archive.
  3. Click Archive store.

Unarchive a store

If you need to restore a store that you've archived, then you can unarchive it. After you unarchive a store, it appears again in the list of stores on the Stores page in your Partner Dashboard.

Steps:

  1. From your Partner Dashboard, click Stores.
  2. Click the Archived tab.
  3. Beside the store you want to unarchive, click Unarchive.

Deactivate a store

Once deactivated, the store will automatically move to the Inactive tab in the stores listing in your Partner Dashboard, and will no longer be visible in the list of active stores.

Steps:

  1. Log into the Shopify admin from your Partner Dashboard.
  2. Go to Store settings > Plan.
  3. Click Deactivate store.
  4. Select a reason you are closing the store.
  5. Click Continue.

To reactivate a development store:

  • If the store is for a client, then you need to select a plan and enter a valid payment method.
  • If the store is for testing and building, then please contact Partner Support.
